Luxurious self-catering accommodation in the heart of Neolithic Orkney
Harefields, a superb, individually designed and very spacious house, with private driveway, is finished to a very high standard. Nestling on its own, in a lovely panoramic site of 4 acres, it commands stunning views over the lochs of Stenness and Harray, and important archaeological sites such as The Ring of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness and Maeshowe.
Sleeping up to eight people, with two en-suites, one family bathroom, a large well-designed, quality kitchen with dining area, and two sitting rooms, one with a large picture window and multi fuel stove, it is an ideal escape for a large family group or a spot of luxury for two.
Take it easy and enjoy a game of table tennis in our new garage, or exercise your dog in our 4-acre field. Ideally situated for walking, bird watching, photography, painting and easy access to archaeological sites, fishing lochs, towns and shops, there is a wealth of discoveries to be made.

Harefields is a luxuriously spacious, and delightful house and the uniquely designed hall leads off to all rooms. On the walls are original paintings by Lesley Francis and quality prints. All seating/beds are of very good quality and very comfortable. Every ceiling is attractive pine tongue and groove wood, which add warmth and individuality, as does the pine furniture. Of special interest is the hearth, in the larger of the two sitting rooms, which is a beautifully carved piece of fossilized seabed from the Devonian period (350 million years ago)…
In this room, is a large picture window with wonderful panoramic views. One can sometimes see hares gambolling across our field, (hence the name Harefields). There is a multi-fuel stove on the hearth. A T.V. can be found in both sitting rooms with BBC Freesat and a VCR/DVD in the larger one…

Large single garage, which houses a table tennis table and equipment, wooden picnic table and garden chairs, barbeque, child’s high chair, outside play equipment and the dustbin.
The garden consists of a large lawned area, with borders of fencing, Willows, and potted shrubs. It leads directly on to our field of 4 acres.

Our policy on pets, smoking and the environment
Well-behaved dogs are accepted. Harefields is totally non-smoking. As much as possible, we try to use environmentally friendly cleaning products and to recycle bottles, newspapers and plastics.

Arrival and Departure
We ask our guests to depart by 10a.m.at the latest and arrive after 4p.m. This gives us time to prepare for our next guests.
